L'Oizeau Rare is a lovely restaurant gracing the hillside at the edge of Marigot Harbor. A beautiful waterfall cascades past the Créole cottage that has been lovingly restored with a cream-colored ceiling (to match the table linen), bright blue posts (to match the St Martin sea and sky), and green tables and chairs (to match the myriad of plantings in and around the dining room) .

The water cascades down the the hill behind the restaurant into this waterfall and then another on the side of the dining room. A beautiful view and the soothing sounds of falling water are never far from your table. Come in, choose a table, study the menu and wine list, check out the specials board, and prepare for a relaxing and exquisite meal. Lunches can be chosen from soups or light salads or our main courses of lamb, beef, chicken, duck, or the bounty from the seas: snapper, salmon, shrimp, or a daily special. For dinner, the chef elevates his cuisine and presents beef tenderloin in brioche, a chicken breast stuffed with lobster in a creamy hazelnut and allspice sauce, and roasted pigeon with foie gras raviolis. The menu has much more, but the specials board should always be checked.

The finest wines from our extensive list ranging from inexpensive finds such as Pinot Grigio Santa Margherita Trentino Alto Adige, Domaine St André de Figuière Vieilles Vignes (a rosé), Croze Hermitage 2005 Les Jalets Jaboulet, and Mercurey la Croix Jaquelet Domaine Faiveley 2005 - all under $40 per bottle. Connoisseurs will recognize Cristal Brut Premier, Dom Pérignon, Les Fiefs de Lagrange, great wines and at reasonable prices. Fine cigars are available and a complete list of after dinner drinks including old rums, XO cognac, fine armagnac, and grappa.

Our chef and staff wish to bring you great food for lunch or dinner and you are most welcome to enjoy drinks and a snack after shopping in the finest shops on the island. They look forward to seeing you soon. The restaurant is located at the base of the hill leading up to Fort Saint Louis at the eastern edge of the Marigot Waterfront. While we don't command the heights of the fort, we are just a bit above the bustle of the waterfront, affording a great view and a serene setting. Mastercard, Visa, and Amex are accepted. Open for nonstop lunch from 11:00am until 10:00pm Monday through Friday, from 4:00pm until 10:00pm on Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
